Rice Protein Powder

Rice protein contains these nine amino acids, plus all other nonessential amino acids.

All of the ingredients in our Rice Protein are naturally occurring components of the actual rice. Certainly, rice protein is bland but it is higher in lysine than other proteins, plus it introduces less of an allergen issue than most other grains. Rice-protein concentrate, a byproduct of rice production from either whole grain white or brown rice, contains approximately 90% protein.

Rice protein is suitable for use by those with food allergies and has even been used for gavage feeding (tube feeding) of infants, the elderly and the severely ill. It has a mild flavor similar to that of cream of rice cereal and may be used in beverages, sprinkled on cereals and yogurt, and added to cooked dishes to boost the protein content without adding fat or a lot of calories. Rice protein is derived by carefully isolating the protein to protect the amino acid content.

The proteins are extracted through a natural process from non-genetically modified polished rice, which results in a cream colored powder with a minimum 70% protein content. Rice protein has an excellent amino acid profile, very close to that found in mothers milk (look it up and see). Rice protein is also highly digestible and low in ash. It is in fact a complete protein containing all essential and non-essential amino acids.

Rice protein is hypoallergenic, which makes it suitable for everyone. Benefits of rice protein are that it is suitable for vegans, those who are suffering from illness and compliments both whey and soy wonderfully. The rice-derived components of our blend are GMO-free and the protein has a unique nutritional profile with a 96 percent correlation to the amino acids found in mother's milk, credited to the high content of the branched chain amino acids.

Rice protein is the least reactive of the proteins in our blend and is therefore good choice for anyone prone to inflammation and gut disturbances. One interferes with recovery from exercise and healing, the other with getting nutrients into our body. So rice was a wise choice on our part (thank us after trying)! In the world of proteins, there are not many that are truly hypoallergenic or nearly complete.
